Form Four leavers who applied to join the Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) in September may now confirm their placement status after the Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) released the results.
In a statement, KUCCPS said the applicants can check the programme and campus they have been placed in while the inter-institutional or programme transfer window closes on August 24.
“Placement results for the KMTC September 2025 intake are out. Applicants should log in to the KUCCPS student portal to check,” the statement read.
KMTC courses are increasingly becoming popular, attracting up to PhD holders at a time more Form Four graduates were dropping degree programmes for diplomas and certificates, especially in technical courses, revealing that career pathways focus was taking root.
Under the Competence-Base Education (CBE), learners in junior secondary schools are choosing three course pathways to pursue in senior schools: sciences, technology and maths (STEM); humanities; and, sports and arts.
The application window for the KMTC September intake ran from June 23 to July 7, allowing applicants to pick pre-service diploma and certificate courses.
While opening the application window, the KUCCPS announced 26 programmes for the September intake, covering both diploma and certificate levels.
Ahead of the application period, the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) in collaboration with KMTC introduced a financing option to support both new and continuing students that covers tuition and related expenses.
Apart from the diplomas, the college also offers higher diploma, short specialised courses, and upgrading programmes whose details are available on the institution’s portal.
Offering 126 medical courses, it has 39 higher diploma courses, including optometry, occupational therapy, women health and pelvic rehabilitation, renal nutrition, and computed tomography.
