The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has opened its online application portal for P1 and ECDE teachers to upgrade to diploma.
The announcement, made on Wednesday, says applicants for Diploma in Primary Teacher Education (DPTE) programme must hold either a Certificate in Primary Teacher Education (P1) or a Certificate in Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE).
They must also have scored a minimum of grade C in their Kenya Certificate for Secondary Education (KCSE) examination.
“The Ministry of Education has introduced this programme to help teachers improve their qualifications and meet the demands of Competency-Based Education,” KUCCPS stated.
Applicants are required to select a teacher training college (TTC) through the KUCCPS system that has a list of 33 public TTCs across the country.
Intake is set for this month and the application process will run for two weeks.
