KU hiring lecturers for school of health sciences

KU hiring lecturers

Kenyatta University (KU) has announced multiple vacancies for lecturers and tutorial fellows across academic departments.

In a notice issued on April 14, the university’s School of Health Sciences is hiring most of the staff in the departments of Human Anatomy, Clinical Radiology and Imaging Services, Human Pathology, Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Family Medicine, Community Health and Epidemiology.

Other departments seeking personnel are Food, Nutrition and Dietetics, Sociology, Gender and Development, Psychology, and Early Childhood and Special Needs Education.

Under the competency-based education (CBE), Kenyan institutions, including schools, TVETs and universities, are a hive of activity in the quest for retooling to get the skills goal right.

By 2029, universities will be admitting the inaugural senior school programme graduates and already a number of government agencies, including the Commission for University Education is engaging experts in the push for a less bumpy change-over.

The KU positions are expected to atteact a stiff competition considering that universities froze new recruitment while a number of part-time lecturers teaching in public varsities are going through a rough patch with their pay arrears running into years.

Because of poor remuneration and tattered facilities, the institutions have been accused of producing graduates that are clueless, forcing employers to spend a lot of resources on making them ready for the roles.

The KU applications close on April 28 and their specifications are available on www.ku.ac.ke.

Meanwhile, the Public Sector Accounting Standards Board (PSASB) is also hiring director for accounting standards; deputy director for HR and administration; assistant director (internal Audit); assistant director (accounting standards); assistant director for internal audit and standards; principal internal audit standards officer; principal accounting standards officer; principal office administrator and a driver.

The positions whose deadline is May 4 are  available on the organisation’s website: www.psasb.go.ke.
