The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has awarded both primary and secondary school tutors for excellence at a ceremony to mark this year’s World Teachers’ Day.
In an event at the Kenya School of Government in Nairobi on October 5, the employer honoured them for overall ranking and most-improved tallies in national examinations KCSE and KCPE.
TSC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Nancy Macharia praised their hard work and dedication at a time the tutors have been juggling the Covid-19 disruptions, the large classes due to 100 percent transition to secondary schools, and implementation of the competence-based curriculum (CBC).
“From the bottom of my heart, and on behalf of the Teachers Service Commission, I most sincerely thank the teaching fraternity for withstanding challenges caused by the twin disruptions of Covid-19 and the just-concluded general election to ensure school programmes are firmly on track. I applaud our exceptional teachers,” said Dr Macharia.
